ANOTHER VICTIM of TELEVISION There is a god. I know; one lives with me. It's not really my god, but I worship it just the same. It is not a god of stone or of wood sitting silent in the corner. It is not a god who hides in the vastness of space, everywhere but nowhere. Praise and glory to the One-Eyed God! This god is near. When I am alone he comforts me and speaks words that soothe me. He shows me what is happening in the world and allows me, his child, to know many things. He lets me see death without having to taste it. To know love without having to feel it. Praise and glory to the One-Eyed God! I have become his priest, one of the many he has called from the world to serve him. I do not count the cost, for to serve him is my only joy. My body grows weak, but when I am weak he is strong. My foolish mind is ceasing from its own thoughts to be filled with his. Praise and glory to the One-Eyed God! \/ [ ] (-- Lawson Dumbech)
